Exclamation How to Patch Axe-Edit 1.9 for FW 10.06

    All,

A patch is required to make Axe-Edit 1.9 compatible with the new Factory Cabs Axe-Fx II FW 10.06.
Click the link below, then unzip the default.axeml file into Axe-Edit's .../configs/ii directory, overwriting the previous version.

    axeml.zip

For Mac OS X, the path is:

    ~Applications/Axe-Edit.app/Contents/MacOS/Configs/II

(You will need to right- or control-click the app and choose "Show Package Contents")

    For Windows the path is:

    ~Program Files (x86)\Fractal Audio\Axe-Edit 1.9\Configs\II

(On some Windows systems, the version number in the path may be "2.0" instead of "1.9")

Thanks and please continue to watch for Developer's Diary entries for Axe-Edit 3.0,

Matt, I am at work, and can't test the connection to the Axe II after attempting this, but here is a screen shot of what is in my file folder now. It didn't overwrite what was in there. If I removed the original file, Axe-Edit wouldn't open. So I put the original back into the II folder.

What am I doing wrong? My computer unzipped the download and showed me the bar file in my downloads folder. I didn't have to unzip anything. How to Patch Axe-Edit 1.9 for FW 10.06-axe-edit-screen-shot.jpg

Don't you hate it when that happens????

I recently had one of those moments. My Atomic 50w cab got dropped off a dolly (yes, I know.. but not by me, don't ask) about a year ago. All tubes were replaced as one 6L6 got busted. Since then it has been working intermittently. Not really an issue as I've been mostly playing bass for the last year, not much guitar. I've got some sub guitar gigs coming up, so I took it in to be looked at. Tech thought it might be a busted pcb saying he could fix it if it was, but might be labor intensive.
Picked it up Wed. What was wrong?? Bad pre-amp tube !!!! WTF??? Really.. ???? Yup.
That's basic debugging 101.. it was embarrassing to say the least - being a long time IT guy and Beta tester and all.
Point being... it can happen to the best of us!

I can only help with the Windows install:

open the zip file and copy the default.axeml file

go into your program files 86 in your computer and find the Fractal Audio file

Click on it, then open the Axe-Edit 1.9 file, then open the Configs file

Right click on the II file and paste in the default.axeme file

It will ask you if you want to replace the existing file. Hit yes.

    That should do it.

Note that the attachment (unlike the FW 10.06 one) is members-only. Might be worth fixing.

On the bright side, that fact finally caused me to register on the forums :-)

Anyone give me a set by step on MAC install. I can't seem to get it going into my "II" folder.

On Mac, app files are folders disguised in simple files.
    First, locate Applications/Axe-Edit.app.
Then right click on it and chose "Show Package Contents" in the menu. You will be able to browse its content. Copy the provided file to Contents/MacOS/Configs/II

The file I end up getting is a EXEC file not compatible with Mac.
